Nothomb

Nothomb, Jean Baptiste, geb. 1805 zu Messancy im Luxenburgischen, Advocat, betheiligte sich sehr lebhaft an der belg. Opposition und 1830 an der Revolution, wirkte hierauf als Diplomat zu London und als Congreßmitglied zu Brüssel für die constitutionelle Monarchie und die Erhaltung des Friedens, war lange Generalsecretär des Ministeriums des Auswärtigen, auch Minister der öffentlichen Arbeiten, 1843 bis 1845 Ministerpräsident, begleitete einige Gesandtschaftsposten, ist seit 1854 Director des Eisenbahnwesens. Sein Bruder Alphonse, geb. 1815, Advocat, Generalprocurator am Appellhofe zu Brüssel, ist seit 31. März 1855 Justizminister.
