Oedema, griech., jede örtliche Ansammlung wässeriger Feuchtigkeiten im Zellgewebe der Haut, somit eine partielle Wassersucht, von der Hautwassersucht nur durch ihre geringe Ausbreitung unterschieden; O. nennt man auch Wafferansammlungen in der Substanz der Eingeweide, namentlich der Lungen.
