Ashmol (Aeschmol), Elias, geb. 1617, engl. Philosoph, Chemiker und Alchemist, Astronom und Astrolog, Alterthumskenner, Freimaurer, für die neue Organisation des Ordens sehr thätig; st. 1692; schrieb unter anderem auch eine Geschichte des Hosenbandordens.
