Pococke (Pokack), Edward, geb. 1604 zu Oxford, gest. 1691 daselbst als Professor der oriental. Sprachen, gab den Abul Faradsch, Abu Ismael Tograi u. ein »Specimen historiae arabum« heraus. – Sein Verwandter Richard P., geb. 1704, gest. 1765 als Bischof zu Meath, bereiste Aegypten, Arabien u. Griechenland u. veröffentlichte darüber eine Reisebeschreibung (2 Bde., Lond. 1743–45).
