Shrop od. Salop, engl. Grafschaft an der obern Severn, an Wales gränzend, nur theilweise fruchtbar, im südwestl. Theile gebirgig, hat gute Viehzucht, Bergbau auf Eisen, Blei und Steinkohlen, bedeutende Fabrikation, auf 61 QM. 245000 E. Hauptstadt ist Shrewsbury.
