Mantinea, alte bedeutende Stadt Arkadiens, bei dem heutigen Tripolitza, berühmt durch den Sieg des Epaminondas 362 v. Chr., den Sieg des Philopömen über die Spartaner 266 v. Chr. Mantisse, nennt man in der Mathematik den Bruchtheil eines Logarithmus (s.d.), gewöhnlich als Decimalbruch dargestellt.
