Clare (Klähr), irische Grafschaft in der Provinz Munster, 50 □M. groß mit 286000 E., die von Ackerbau, Viehzucht und Leinenfabrikation leben; der Shannon liefert treffliche Fische. Die Grafschaft ist dadurch historisch geworden, weil ihre Wahl OʼConnels 1828 in das engl. Parlament die Emancipation der Katholiken entschied.
