Ulster (Oelster), die nördlichste Provinz Irlands, 398 QM. groß, von Bergreihen durchzogen (der Slib Donar ist die höchste Spitze Irlands), mit vielen Binnenseen u. Mooren, über 2 Mill. E., ist in die 9 Grafschaften Down, Antrim, Londonderry, Donegal, Tyrone, Armagh, Monaghan, Cavan und Fermanagh eingetheilt.
