Tyndale (Tindehl), William, geb. um 1477 in der engl. Grafschaft Gloucester, Geistlicher, Anhänger Luthers, übersetzte die Bibel, entfloh vor Heinrich VIII. aus England, wurde aber 1536 zu Vilvoord in Brabant auf engl. Requisition erdrosselt und verbrannt.
