Station, lat.-dtsch., Stand, Standort; bei der Post der Platz, wo die Pferde gewechselt werden oder wo die Eisenbahn anhält, dann die Entfernung 2 solcher Plätze, Landungsplatz, Posten, Amt; S.är, stillstehend, bleibend; S. arius, früher der Name des Antiquars, Büchertrödler, Pfarramtsgehilfe; st. iren, anstellen, aufstellen; S. en, bei den Katholiken 14 Momente des Leidens Christi (Kreuzweg, via crucis), von dem Gebete im Garten Gethsemane bis zur Grablegung, in vielen Kirchen durch Tafeln an den Wänden dargestellt, an manchen Orten im Freien in kleinen Kapellen oder sog. Bildstöcken, gewöhnlich in einer Berg- oder Feldkapelle endigend; damit verbindet sich (besonders während der Fastenzeit) eine eigene öffentliche oder private Andacht, die Kreuzwegandacht.
