Shanghaë, Schanghai, chin. Hafenplatz an der Mündung des Wusung und Yantsekiang, in Folge des engl. chines. Friedensvertrags vom 26. Aug. 1842 dem Verkehr mit den Fremden geöffneter Freihafen, hat etwa 120000 E., großartigen Handelsverkehr.
