Nicephorus, Name mehrer byzant. Kaiser: N. I. von 802–11, blieb gegen die Bulgaren; N. II. Phokas. 963–69; N. III. Botoniates, 1078–81. – N., Name mehrer byzant. Schriftsteller: N., Patriarch von Konstantinopel. gest. 828, gab ein chronologisches Compendium u. einen historischen Abriß heraus. – N. Bryennius, Cäsar und Gemahl der Anna Komnena, gest. 1137, schrieb eine Geschichte der Komnenen. – N., Gregoras, Patriarch von Konstantinopel im 14. Jahrh., verfaßte eine byzantin. Geschichte; alle diese sind in den Scriptores hist. byzant, Bonn, herausgegeben. – N. Blemmides, Mönch, schrieb 2 geograph. Werke; Ausgabe von Spohn, Leipzig 1818.
