Hilarus, St., Papst von 461–468, ein geborner Sarde, bei der Räubersynode von 449 als päpstl. Legat anwesend, drang als würdiger Nachfolger Leoʼs d. Gr. auf jährliche Abhaltung von Provinzialsynoden, hielt das Metropolitansystem streng aufrecht und bewahrte die Kirche vor unrechtmäßigen Bischöfen. Gedächtnißtag 21. Febr.
