Friant

Friant (Friang), Louis, Graf von, geb. 1758, wurde unter Ludwig XVI. Unteroffizier, nahm 1787 seinen Abschied, weil weiteres Vorrücken für ihn als Bürgerlichen unmöglich war, trat 1792 wieder ein u. wurde Bataillonschef, 1795 Brigade-, 1799 Divisionsgeneral, 1808 Graf, focht in allen Kriegen mit höchster Auszeichnung, durchbrach 1813 bei Hanau mit der Garde die feindliche Armee, commandirte zuletzt bei Waterloo eine Division der alten Garde. Durch Ordonnanz vom 1. August 1815 außer Dienst gesetzt lebte er bis 1829 zurückgezogen auf seinem Landgute Gaillonet.
