Decretalist, Glossator oder Erklärer der Decretalen. Decretist, im Mittelalter was Canonist; besonders im Gegensatze gegen die Juristen, welche auf dem röm. Rechte fußend die Fürstengewalt gegenüber dem Papste geltend machen wollten.
