Soltyk, Roman, geb. 1791 zu Warschau, trat 1807 in die poln. Armee, zeichnete sich als Artillerieoffizier aus, gehörte 1824 als Landbote zur Opposition, nahm an dem Aufstande 1830 lebhaften Antheil, setzte am 7. Septbr. 1831 den Kampf mit der Artillerie bis zum letzten Augenblick fort, st. 1843 als Flüchtling zu St. Germain-en-Laye. Seine historischen Schriften (Abriß der poln. Geschichte, Napoleon im Jahre 1812 etc.) haben keinen besondern Werth.
